Question Library page
The Question Library lets you create and maintain questions you can use when building the question and answer section of your interviews. You can access the Question Library page from the main menu bar > Admin > Question Library.
Below is an example of the Question Library page. Areas of the page where you can perform actions are highlighted and described below
1 - Filter: Filter or sort the questions displayed
- Search: Filter the questions displayed by name. For example, if you enter “D” in the Search field, the page displays all records where the question contains a “D” (Describe a conflict…; As a leader, how do…; etc.). If you enter “Des” in the filter field, the page displays all records where the question contains the “Des” string (Describe a time…). For questions to appear in the filter, they must contain the exact string of letters and/ or numbers entered in the filter field, in the order in which they are typed.
- Competency: Filter questions by their assigned competency. Competencies are optional fields that specify behaviors employees must exhibit to be successful in a job. Competencies are different from job descriptions in that job descriptions are a summary of the skills required for a job, whereas competencies are the behaviors that predict success on the job. When you select a competency, then the page displays only the questions that are assigned the selected competency.
- Keywords: Filter questions by their assigned keyword. Keywords are optional categories you can assign when creating or editing a question. When you select a keyword, then the page displays only the questions that are assigned the selected keyword.
Response type: Filter questions by their assigned response type. Response types are used to determine how candidates respond to questions during interviews.
For example, if you use an audio response type for a question in an on-demand interview, candidates will be required to record an audio clip when responding to the question. Response types include video, audio, live, fill-in-the-blank, single select, multiple select, or text.
Note: Response types will vary depending on the interview type and your application’s licensing.
- Type: Filter questions by their assigned type. Types are stages within a job workflow, each of which is characterized by an interview type (such as on-demand video, on-demand voice, live video, etc.).
For example, if you want to assess a candidate’s ability to understand Spanish, you can use an audio question to present a clip of someone speaking Spanish. You can write text instructions within the question that ask candidates to listen to the audio clip and translate what they heard. Language: Filter questions by their assigned language. You can specify the language in which the question is presented to the candidate. When you select the language for the question, the recruiters experience is not affected.
Note: This filter appears if you have added questions in multiple languages and is based on your application’s licensed languages. Languages are a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.
- Archived: View the questions that have been archived and are no longer available to add to an interview. Questions cannot be deleted from the Question Library. If you wish to remove a question from library so recruiter cannot use the question in interviews, archive the question.
2 - Question card
Collection of information to help identify or take action on a given question.
- 1 - Question type: An at-a-glance view of the assigned question type for a question. Question types can be on-demand video, on-demand phone, on-demand text, live video, in person, or live phone.
- 2 - Response type: An at-a-glance view of the assigned response type for a question. Response types are used to determine how candidates can respond to questions during interviews. Response types include video, audio, fill-in-the-blank, single select, multiple select, or text.
- 3 – Action menu: Lets you perform actions related to the selected question.
- View: Opens the View Question panel. Here you can view all the details and settings for the question. You can also choose to Edit or Duplicate the question from the View Question panel.
- Edit: Opens the Edit Question panel. You can edit all details for the question, except for Type.
- Duplicate: Opens the Add Question panel. Here you can change all details for the duplicated question, including Type.
- Archive: Automatically archives the question. This question will no longer appear as an option when adding questions to an interview. When filtering by archived questions, you can unarchive questions. Unarchiving questions will add the question back to the question library and allow it to be added to a stage.
4 – Language: An at-a-glance view of the assigned language for a question. You can specify the language in which the question is presented to the candidate.
Note: Language appears if you have added questions in multiple languages and is based on your application’s licensed languages. Languages are a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.

4 - Add Question
Opens the Add Question panel. Select the desired type, then additional settings appear to continue customizing the question, response, and review details.
