Rating and review
Rating and review lets you assess and rate on-demand and live candidate interviews using stars and review tools, and then use those ratings to prioritize or advance the most successful candidates. You can review:
- On-demand interviews when candidates submit their interviews.
- Live interviews either during the interview or once the interview is complete. To review candidates during the interview, hiring managers can click the link in their email invitation to access the interview page, where they can view the interview questions and submit their rating and review. If live interviews are recorded, then reviewers can review recordings from the completed interviews prior to submitting their feedback.
Depending on your application configuration, you can review and rate interviews at either the interview level or the question level. If you review at the:
- Interview level, then reviewers can use the rating and review tools within the interview page to submit their feedback on the candidate interview as a whole.
-
Question level, then reviewers can use the rating and review tools available within each question to submit their feedback on how the candidate responds to each question in the interview. When reviewers submit their reviews, HireVue averages the ratings for all questions in the interview to generate an overall average rating for the candidate. The average rating is used as the interview level rating, and is visible on the candidate card and in the Review All Ratings page.
Note: Overall recommendation is available at the interview level. Stars is available at both the interview level and the question level.
How it works
When candidates submit their on-demand interviews or complete their live interviews, you can select available options within the candidate card to:
Review the interview yourself
Select See Responses to view the recorded interview, and then use the stars, recommendation tools, and notes field to submit your feedback.
If licensed, candidate On-demand video and On-demand phone response transcriptions may be displayed next to the question. For more information, see On-demand transcriptions.
Send the interview to hiring managers for review
Client Administrators and Recruiters can select Send for Review to send the candidate review to hiring managers and request that they provide their feedback. Hiring managers can click a link within the email notification to view the interview page for the selected candidate, where they can use the stars, recommendation tools, and notes field to submit their feedback.
If hiring managers are invited to live interviews, they can always access review tools from within their email invitation; they do not need to be invited to review.
Hiring managers can only view their assigned candidate's interviews until reviewed by them; they do not have access to other candidate records or functionality within Hirevue. Once reviewed, Hiring Managers can no longer see the candidate's submission.
When reviewers submit their reviews, Hirevue generates a running average of the stars and recommendation reviews for the candidate. Recommendation ratings are rounded to the positive. For example, if only one out of two ratings for a live interview is to recommend the candidate, then the average rating will be Recommend.
Rating & Review Filter
Use the Rating & Review filter on the Interview Stage page to display only those candidates that achieve a specific review or rating. You can choose to show candidates that earned a specific star rating, or that are recommended or not recommended for hire.
This example shows an on-demand interview stage filter that is configured to display only those candidates that earned four or five stars, and are recommended for hire.
Candidate card
Access the candidate card from the Interview stage page within the Job Summary view. You can refer to the rating information displayed on the candidate card to view the average stars and recommendation ratings, as well as the number of reviews that were averaged to produce the average result.
Review All Ratings page
From the On-demand or Live interview pages, you can click the bar graph icon next to the candidate to open the Review All Ratings page, where you can view:
- All submitted ratings
- Total and possible review score
- Average rating and review score
- Review rate and other completion statistics
You can also use rating and recommendation results to prioritize, compare, or automatically advance successful candidates from the current interview stage to the next. If you configured the interview stage to automatically advance candidates based on the ratings or recommendation, then candidates that meet the defined criteria are automatically advanced to the next interview stage. Otherwise, you can review the ratings for each candidate and manually advance the ones that you want to move to the next stage. For more information, see Advancement.
Reviewing Assessment Scores
Assessments are pre-employment evaluations that recruiters can use to evaluate a candidate's skills, behavior, and personality. Results of an online assessment can be used to compare candidates to benchmarks, and then prioritize and advance the candidates who are the best fit for the job.
You can configure HireVue to integrate supported assessment tools into the on-demand video or on-demand text interview. If an on-demand interview includes an assessment, you can review the results in two places within the job:
Interview stage filter
The Stage page displays a summary of the progress for each stage in your job. For on-demand stages that include assessments, you can use the filter and sort option to display only those candidates that achieve a specific score on their assessment.
This example shows an on-demand stage filter that is configured to use VJT assessments to evaluate candidates.
Candidate card
Candidate cards for on-demand stages that require assessments display the submitted assessment score directly on the card. This allows you to quickly evaluate and compare candidates based on their scores. For more information, see Job summary (ratings indicators).
This image displays an example candidate card with a VJT assessment score of 4 (Excellent Fit).
Review page
You can review assessment results for on-demand stages on the Assessment tab of the review page.
The review page displays the candidate fit information as well as a See Assessment link which allows you to view all of the assessment scores on the Assessment tab.
Assessment tab
The Assessment tab displays all of the candidate assessment scores, the overall result, and a link to the Candidate Profile Report.
Candidate Profile Report
The Candidate Profile Report is available from the View Report link on the Assessment tab. This report provides an indication of how well the candidate is likely to perform in the role. The candidate profile provides fit scores on a variety of competencies critical for success in the role. These competencies are customized to the role.
The report is divided into three sections:
- Overall Fit
- Competency Fit
- Work History Probes
Note: Assessments are a licensed feature in Hirevue and may not be available for your application. See your Hirevue system administrator for more information.
