Self-Register
Self-Register options let you generate a link or text code that you can share with candidates, enabling them to self-register for an on-demand video, voice, or text interview.
You can configure this section to use one or both of the following options in an on-demand interview stage:
- Post a link online that candidates can click to register for an on-demand interview using their computer or mobile browser.
- Generate a phone number or short code along with an access code that candidates can use when self-registering via SMS (text) message.
Self-Register Settings
Online registration
Share a link via social media, email campaigns, on your organization's website, or anywhere you want to engage candidates.
- Allow unlimited registrations: Places no limit to the number of candidates who can use the link to self-register.
- Limit registrations: Limits the number of candidates who can use the link to self-register. Type the maximum number of candidates who can register in the Number of registrations allowed field. Once the maximum number has been reached, additional candidates who try to register will receive a message indicating the job is no longer available, and recommending that they contact their recruiter.
- Page redirect URL (optional): Specifies the web page to which you want to direct candidates when either:
- They are attempting to self-register, but the maximum number of registrations has been reached.
- The interview stage is expired.
- Self-registration link: Provides methods for sharing the self-registration link. If you want to:
- Share the link in your configured social media account (for example, Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn), then click the social media buttons to automatically share the link.
- Copy the link to paste into an email or web page, then click the Copy Link button and paste the link into another application.
Text-based registration
Provide candidates with an access code and phone or short code number that allows them to register through text messaging.
When you use this option, you give candidates an access code that they can text to a number (either phone number or short code) that you provide. HireVue responds with text messages to candidates, requesting that they provide basic contact information. Once candidates submit the requested information, HireVue adds them to the application as a candidate and sends an on-demand interview request.
Best practice is to use the short codes that appear at the top of the Available Numbers list when providing candidates with a means for registering through SMS (text) messaging. Short codes are memorable, 5-6 digit numbers that can be used to send large numbers of messages with higher throughput than long numbers.
