Create job templates
Job templates let you create jobs with predefined interview stages and settings. This can be helpful in organizations where jobs are standardized and follow a predefined workflow. It can also help save time for recruiters, as it means they do not have to manually set up the job, define questions, and specify advancement options.
Best practice: To reinforce a consistent experience across similar positions, you should create and use job templates when creating jobs for positions you regularly recruit for.
Note: Depending on the permissions set up in your application, you may or may not be able to create and edit templates. For more information, contact your Hirevue administrator.
Convert a job to a template
You can save time in creating job templates by converting an existing job into a template. However, you can only convert jobs that do not have interviews or events associated with them. In addition, know that once you convert a job to a template, it is no longer available as a job; it is only available as a job template.
To convert a job to a template
- Click Jobs on the main Hirevue menu bar.
- Select the job that you want to convert, and then click Convert Job to Template. The job disappears from the Jobs grid, and is now available for use as a job template.
Create a new job template
Creating a new job template is similar to creating a new job because you must define all of the interview stages and settings that you want to include in the template. However, when you create a job template, it is available in the job templates page, and ready for users to use when creating jobs.
To create a new job template
- Click Jobs on the main Hirevue menu bar, and then drop the drop down menu, select Job Templates.
- On the Job Templates page, click Create Job Template.
-
On the Create Job Template page, enter the following information:
Title (Required)Name of the job you are adding. Job title is visible to all candidates and to all users selecting this job during stage setup.
Best Practice: Match this field the job requisition information in your Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
When creating a job from a job template, this field contains the title of the job template. You can elect to change or retain the existing title. If all jobs created from this template must have the same title, use a unique requisition number to differentiate them.
Job Role (Recommended)
Common occupational roles you want to associate with the job.
Note: While Builder is a licensed feature, the Job Role field is visible to all Hirevue users to encourage consistency across requisitions and interview guides. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.
Template Requisition (Recommended or required, based on your application configuration)
Client-specific requisition identifier (ID) associated with the job. This value must be unique, and is only visible to Hirevue users.
Best Practice: Match this field the job requisition information in your Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
When creating a job from a job template, this field contains the requisition number (if defined) from the template. Since requisition numbers must be unique to the job, you must update this field with a requisition number unique to the job you are creating.

External link (such as to a website or video) you want to give to candidates interviewing for this job. When you specify external links for a job, the links are visible to candidates on the Welcome page of their on-demand web/video stage (Job Description section).
Which groups should have access?
Only appears if groups are configured for your application. If so, then indicates the groups to which you want to assign to the job (at least one group is required).
Groups are categories defined in your application to help you categorize jobs. For example, groups can be used to classify jobs by business function, regional area, or other attribute. Jobs assigned to a specific group can only be viewed by users who are also assigned to that group. Groups are defined and managed by your Hirevue administrator.
For more information about groups, see Groups.
Language

Languages are a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.
Note: If AI scored language support is used, the Job Language will determine the candidate's language experience. For more information, see AI scored language support.
