Why should I set a stage expiration?
You can set the stage expiration date to specify the date/ time on which the stage expires. Defining a stage expiration date prevents candidates from submitting their on-demand interviews after a pre-determined deadline.
Once the expiration date/ time has passed for an interview stage:
- You can no longer send interview requests to candidates
- Candidates can no longer submit interviews to you.
If there is an expiration date for an interview stage to which a candidate is invited, they will be asked to complete their interview prior to that date.
Example: Campus recruiting
Recruiters at Acme Corp. regularly attend career fairs as a way of interviewing and recruiting graduating college seniors. Since Acme recruiters ask hiring managers to travel to the fairs and interview promising students on-site, they want to make sure each student that they interview is a viable candidate.
To achieve this goal, Acme Corp. recruiters ask student candidates to complete an on-demand interview prior to the career fair, and then schedule live interviews with the most promising candidates. To ensure that all student candidates complete their on-demand interview in time, recruiters set the stage expiration date for the on-demand video interview to a week before the campus fair. When the stage expires, recruiters can evaluate all submitted interviews and then schedule live interviews with the candidates they want to meet at the fair.
