Can a candidate make multiple interview recordings and select the best one?
The last recording that was made is the video the recruiter will see. The candidate may not go back to pick the first recording when they have recorded the answer more than once.
When you configure an answer type for an On-Demand interview, you use the Recording Mode field to specify the time and retake limitations you want to apply to the answer. The default is Multiple Retakes, which means that the candidate can re-record an answer an unlimited number of times. You can also set the Recording Mode for a set amount of retakes (up to five). For more information about the Recording Mode option, see Recording modes.
Example: Three tries
The recruiter at Acme Corp. set the Recording Mode field in an on-demand video/web stage for a sales job to two retakes. The recruiter wants to assess the candidate's ability to self-edit and adapt to a situational question but does not want to give the candidate unlimited attempts.
The candidate begins the on-demand video interview, is presented with the question and records their first response. The candidate reviews that response and is not satisfied. The candidate selects Re-Record and records the response again. The candidate reviews that response and is still not satisfied. The candidate records a third response. The candidate no longer is presented with the Re-Record button. They can only select Next to move forward in the interview. That third response will be the response that the recruiter sees when reviewing the candidate's interview.
