Work with questions
The Question Library is a repository of interview questions you can use when building jobs or job templates for on-demand and live interviews. Questions can be manually added or imported into the Question Library and then edited, duplicated, or archived. With the Question Library, you can design all aspects of interview questions and reuse them across the Hirevue application. This enables you to quickly create interview guides with effective and consistent questions incorporating your proprietary review instructions and scales.
From the Question Library, you can:
Search or filter the questions by competency, keyword, response type, interview type, and language (if questions have been added to your Question Library in more than one language).
- Create and add new questions.
- Import a spreadsheet of questions.

Edit, duplicate, or archive questions.
Note: The language filter will appear only if questions have been added to the Question Library in more than one language. Languages are a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.
Working with questions in the Question Library
Create new questions to be used across your organization in the Question Library. Questions in your Question Library are added to individual stages within a job. After creating or importing questions, you can continue to work with them by editing, duplicating, or archiving them as necessary.
To add a new question
- Select Admin > Question Library from the main Hirevue menu bar.
- At the bottom of the Question Library page, select Add Question.
- On the Add Question panel, select the stage Type for the new question.
- Additional settings are available depending on the stage type you choose.
- Select Add Question.

To edit a question
- Select Admin > Question Library from the main HireVue menu bar.
- Locate the question you want to edit by searching or filtering for it.
- From the question card, select the Action menu > Edit.

Make any desired changes to the question.
Note: A question's stage Type cannot be changed while editing. If you wish to change the stage type for the question, you can duplicate the question to save a new one and adjust the type accordingly.
- Select Save.
To duplicate a question
- Select Admin > Question Library from the main Hirevue menu bar.
- Locate the question you want to duplicate by searching or filtering for it.
- From the question card, select the Action menu > Duplicate.
- Make any desired changes to the question.
- Select Add Question.
To archive a question
- Select Admin > Question Library from the main Hirevue menu bar.
- Locate the question you want to archive by searching or filtering for it.

From the question card, select the Action menu > Archive.
Note: Archived questions can be viewed by selecting Show Archived Questions under the Question Library filters.
To unarchive a question
- Select Show Archived Questions under the Question Library filters on the left.
- Locate the question you want to unarchive by searching or filtering for it.
- From the question card, select Action menu > Unarchive.
