Add stages to a job
When you create a job, you define basic information about the job, and then add one or more on-demand or live stages to the job in the order in which you want candidates to move through them.
You can add as many stages as you need in order to customize the candidate experience for that job.
To add stages to a job
- If you haven't already done so, create the job to which you want to add stages. When you save the initial job details, Hirevue opens the job in the Job Summary view.
-
Select Add Interview Stage, and then select the stage you want to add to your job.
- In the Interview Stage Name field, type a name you want to assign to the stage to differentiate it from the other stages, and then save.
- For each stage you add, configure the available options:
- Scheduling (live interviews only)
- Candidate experience
- Assessment
- Interview questions
- Reviewer options (on-demand interviews only)
- Documents
- Review invitation email (on-demand web/video interviews only)
- If desired, select Add Interview Stage to add a second stage to the job.
-
Specify the way in which you want candidates to advance to this stage:
Manually select and move candidatesYou are responsible for reviewing the candidate interview from the previous stage, and then using the Candidate Details page to manually advance them to this stage.
Advance candidates based on [criteria]
Hirevue automatically moves candidates to this stage, based on whether they meet or exceed defined criteria, without manual intervention from you. When you select this option, you must also define the advancement criteria you want to use.
Interview submission (on-demand only)
Advance candidates who submit their on-demand interviews. When you select interview submission as the advancement criteria for an on-demand interview, Hirevue waits a configured length of time before advancing the candidate to the next stage. This delay is configured at an application level, and is specific to your organization.
Candidate response score (on-demand only)
Advance candidates who meet or exceed a specific candidate response score when responding to single- or multiple-select questions. When candidates select a response to each question, the assigned score is added to the total.
Candidate response scores are values you can assign to each response for single- or multiple-select on-demand interview questions. When candidates select a response to each question, the assigned score is added to the total. When candidates submit their interview, they earn a total response score that is compared with the defined threshold to determine whether or not they advance to the next stage.
Assessment score (on-demand only)
Advance candidates who earn a specific assessment score when responding to assessments during on-demand interviews. Assessments are tools used in on-demand stages to evaluate candidates based on standardized third-party assessments.
When you select this option, candidates who meet or achieve the assessment score set in the Assessments panel of the previous stage will automatically advance to this stage.
Note: Assessments is a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information, contact your Hirevue Administrator.
Star rating
Advance candidates based on the number of stars a reviewer assigns to the candidate. You define the number of stars the candidate must earn before they're automatically advanced to the next stage. Then, the first submitted review will either automatically advance the candidate or the candidate will not advance.
Important! Automated advancement is based on the first submitted star rating review. If the first rating from a review doesn't meet the criteria, the candidate will not advance to the next stage, regardless of subsequent ratings from reviewers. Therefore, this criteria is best used for single reviewers.
Recommendation
Important! Automated advancement is based on the first submitted Recommendation review. If the first review doesn't meet the criteria, the candidate will not advance to the next stage, regardless of subsequent reviews. Therefore, this criteria is best used for single reviewers.
Advance candidates based on a recommendation in the first submitted review. A reviewer evaluating candidate interviews can assign a Recommendation to the interview, thereby indicating their approval of the candidate. If the first reviewer does not recommend the candidate, or does not provide a recommendation as part of their review, the candidate will not advance to the next stage, regardless of subsequent recommendations from reviewers.
Review score
Important! Automated advancement is based on the first submitted review score. If the first review doesn't meet the criteria, the candidate will not advance to the next stage, regardless of subsequent reviews. Therefore, this criteria is best used for single reviewers.
Advance candidates based on the review score calculated in the first submitted review. When you choose to advance a candidate based on review score, you must also define the minimum score the candidate must earn in order to advance to the next stage.
Review scores are defined in the Review Format section of the Interview Questions panel within each stage. For each question you add to an interview, you can define the review format you want reviewers to follow when providing their feedback. If you select a Single Select or Multiple Select review type, then you can also define the choices from which you want reviewers to select, and the scores you want to assign to each choice.
When reviewers are reviewing the candidate interview, they choose from the list you defined, and the associated score is then assigned to the response for that candidate. If the score from the first submitted review meets or exceeds the review score threshold defined for advancement, then the candidate will automatically advance to the next stage. Otherwise, the candidate will not advance, regardless of subsequent reviews. To move the candidate to the next stage you must manually advance them
- Continue adding and configuring stages until you complete the job workflow. When you are finished, you can begin adding candidates to your stage.
