Edit or remove stages
After you create a job and add the initial interview stages, you can continue to work with the stages within the job - moving, configuring, removing, or even adding new interview stages to customize your workflow.
You can add and reorder interview stages at any time, and regardless of whether you have already invited candidates to those stages. However, you can only delete interview stages that do not have candidates associated with them.
Add stages to an existing job
You can add an unlimited number of interview stages to an existing job. However, before you begin, consider the candidate experience. Limit the stages to the maximum number of interviews that you want candidates to participate in.
To add a stage to an existing job
- Click Jobs on the main Hirevue menu bar.
- On the Jobs page, click the job that you want to add stages to. The job opens in the Job Summary view.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click Add Stage. For more information, see Add stages to a job.
Edit existing stages
You can edit stage settings for stages that do not have candidate interviews associated with them. Stage settings should not be edited once you invite candidates to that stage.
To edit existing stages
- Click Jobs on the main Hirevue menu bar.
- On the Jobs page, click the job that you want to edit. The job opens in the Job Summary Overview.
- Scroll to the stage that you want to edit, and then click Show Settings.
- Edit the settings that you want to change.
Remove stages from an existing job
If you no longer want a specific stage in your job, and you have not yet invited candidates to that stage, you can easily remove it.
To remove a stage from an existing job
- Click Jobs on the main Hirevue menu bar.
- On the Jobs page, click the job that you want to remove stages from. The job opens in the Job Summary Overview.
- Scroll to the stage that you want to remove, and then to the right of the stage name, click the trashcan icon
. If candidates:
- Have been invited to this stage, you will receive an error message and be unable to remove the stage.
- Have not yet been invited to this stage, you can click Delete to confirm. The stage is permanently removed from the job.
