Jobs
Jobs are similar to requisitions in applicant tracking systems (ATS), in that they contain information about the position you are recruiting and the candidates you are considering. However, in Hirevue, jobs also contain the stages you want candidates to move through from the moment of first contact, through the various stages in the job, and up to the final interview when you select the candidate you want to hire.
Jobs in Hirevue are highly customizable and can be built to accomplish your specific recruitment goals. Jobs are made up of one or more stages. A stage is a type of interview (for example, on-demand web/video, live phone, or in-person) that has specific features and characteristics you can configure to fit your needs. When you build a job, you select the stages you want to move candidates through as they progress through your interview process. Since each job is different, you can mix and match stages in a way that makes the most sense for that job and your needs.

For example, let's say you are filling a customer service position, and want to begin with an on-demand web/video screen to narrow down your pool of candidates. Next, you want to screen the viable candidates over the phone to make sure they sound like a good fit before you pass them along to the hiring manager. As the last stage in the interview process, you want to schedule an in-person interview for the most promising candidates so they can meet face-to-face with the hiring manager.
To create this interview flow, you can create a single job in HireVue with three stages (on-demand web/video, live phone, and in-person). You can use HireVue to automate the flow from one stage to the next, where it makes sense, and to easily invite candidates to stages and track their progress through your job.
Working with jobs in Hirevue
Before you can set up an on-demand or live stage, you must create a job.
Once you create a job, you add one or more stages you want to associate with the job, and define whether you want Hirevue to automatically advance candidates from one stage to the next, based on criteria you define, or you want to move each candidate manually.
There are multiple ways to create a job in Hirevue. You can:
- Create jobs using job templates
- Create a new job
- Clone an existing job
- Create jobs from an applicant tracking system (ATS). For more information about this, contact your Hirevue administrator.
Best practice: To reinforce a consistent experience across similar positions, you should create and use job templates when creating jobs for positions you regularly recruit for. For more information, see Job templates.
