Stages
Stages are steps within a job workflow, each of which is characterized by a type (such as on-demand video, on-demand voice, or live video). When you create a job, you add one or more stages, and then specify how you want candidates to move from one stage to the next. As candidates progress through the job workflow, you select whether candidates move on to the next stage via Advancement. For more information, see Advancement.
Working with stages in a job
When you create a job, you define basic information about the job, and then add one or more on-demand and live stages to the job in the order in which you want candidates to move through them. You can add as many stages as you need to customize the candidate experience for that job. For example, some jobs may require just two stages - an on-demand video and an in person interview. Other more complex jobs may require the addition of an on-demand voice interview and a live video interview prior to the in person, on-site interview.
You can add, remove, and reorder stages to mix and match the stages that you want candidates to move through. You can also configure the settings within each stage to customize the job to fit your specific needs. This method of combining stages within a job workflow lets you create a custom candidate experience tailored for your specific job requirements.
When you are ready to begin the interview process, you add candidates to the first stage. When you add candidates to an
- On-demand stage, candidates are automatically invited to complete that stage.
- Live stage, you can either manually schedule the candidate interview, or ask candidates to self-schedule. For more information, see Scheduling methods.
Once candidates complete their stage, you can review and advance successful candidates to the next stage.
- If an on-demand stage is configured to use automatic advancement criteria, then successful candidates will automatically advance to the next stage without recruiter intervention. Candidates continue moving through stages in the order you define in the job until the job is filled.
-
If an on-demand web/video stage is configured to allow stage exemptions in the Candidate options section, then you can give candidates the option to self-attest they have already fulfilled the stage's requirements. Candidates who are exempt from the stage automatically advance to the next stage. Candidates who are not exempt complete the stage as originally assigned.
Note: Stage exemptions are a licensed feature and may not be available for your application. For more information about your specific application configuration, contact your system administrator.
